During the COVID lockdown, I joined forces with the Junior Library Guild to host a weekly webcast for young students across America. Each week—for 20 weeks—I wrote a chapter about current events and how they affected a young boy and his family struggling to survive the pandemic, both emotionally and financially. Then, on-air live, I would read the chapter out loud and ask listeners to weigh in on the upcoming week’s happenings. (Example: Kids got to vote to see if Aiden and his family adopted a cat or a dog, and what Aiden and his sister might name the pet.]
It was a super fun experience, and one that ended up with a finished book.
